The National Day of the State of Qatar is celebrated on December 18th of every year in commemoration of the state's founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani, under the theme "Promise of Prosperity and Glory".

In Asuncion, the Embassy of the State of Qatar hosted a reception attended by numerous members of the Diplomatic missions accredited in Paraguay, politicians, ministers and officials of the Republic of Paraguay. Also attended various artists, journalists and musicians.

Charge Daffairs Mr. Abdulrahman Alsowaidi during his speech underlined the excellent bilateral relations between both countries. The diplomat also pointed the position of the State of Qatar during the Gulf crisis, which calls for resolving it through dialogue and discussing controversial issues without compromising the sovereignty of countries or interfering in their internal affairs.
